Accounting and finance

All your accounting requirements and more are supported in TallyPrime. Accounting, also known as bookkeeping, is the recording and classifying of financial transactions into the books of accounts and associated registers. Vouchers that can be used includes the following.

Sales voucher

Sales vouchers are used when the company sells some goods or services to customers (Sales Item Invoice, Sales Account Invoice).

Proforma invoice

Proforma invoice can be generated as requested by Customers.

Credit Note

This is used when a customer returns stock that was incorrectly supplied or when a customer has been over-charged.

Purchase Voucher

Used when the company makes a purchase from their creditors.

Debit Note

This is used when a firm returns stock that was incorrectly supplied or when a supplier has over-charged.

Payment Voucher

To pass all payment made to suppliers, Expense etc.

Receipt Voucher

To receive all monies paid to the company either cash or cheque.

Contra Entry

This is used to pass transaction indicating transfer of funds from Cash to Bank Acct, Bank to Cash Acct and/or Bank to Bank Acct. e.g. Transfer from Bank account to Petty cash (cash-in-hand) or, Transfer from cash to bank account.

Journal Entry

This is used to adjust the debit and credit amounts without involving the cash or bank accounts. Hence, they are referred to as Adjustment entries.

Purchase Order

This is used when the company wishes to place an order with the supplier for some goods. It is used to assist later in checking whether the goods have been received.

Sales Order
